In an area of northwest Alaska, covering 300,000 square miles, over 20,000 people have mysteriously vanished. The majority of these disappearances have occurred in an area locals call the Alaska Triangle. Some people were lost to the rugged landscape, others disappeared by plane. But in all these cases, the bodies are rarely discovered. Who or what's behind these cases is unknown. Some believe it's the work of local predators. Others point to legendary creatures like the Kushtaka, or the Iliamna Lake Monster. And some believe it's a supernatural force called a vile vortex.
